Microneedling
WHAT IS MICRONEEDLING?
It is the controlled induction of the skin's self-repair mechanism by creating micro-injuries in the skin, stimulating the production of collagen. Microneedling is a safe and holistic skin therapy that produces optimal results using micro needles. While it is a non-aggressive and natural treatment, there may be minor and temporary surface bleeding during the session. Depending on each individual, there may be some very mild discomfort during the procedure. As such, an anesthetic cream may be used for tolerance if needed.

DAY OF TREATMENT INSTRUCTIONS
-
Make sure your skin is clean (without any lotion, oil, makeup, deodorant, powder, perfume or sunscreen in and around the area to be treated.)
-
Inform me of any changes in medical history and of all medications you are taking.
POST-CARE INSTRUCTIONS
-
Immediately after Microneedling, I may apply an anti-inflammatory moisturiser with sunscreen topically.
-
Do not take any other anti-inflammatory medications such as Ibuprofen, Cataflam, Voltaren, Nurofen, Myprodol and Advil. These agents will interfere with the natural inflammatory process that is critical and responsible for your skin rejuvenation.
-
After Microneedling, avoid sun-tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight for 2-3 days. When exposed to sun, always use SPF30+.
-
Redness may be present for a few hours and your skin might feel tight and warm (similar sensation to sunburn).
-
Avoid strenuous exercise or sweating for 24 hours due to open pores.
-
Treat skin gently washing with a gentle cleanser, cool water, using hands only and pat dry. Do not touch your face with unwashed hands.
-
You may restart your regular skin care regimen after 24 hours and Retin A after 48 hours.
-
Recommend follow up and repeat treatments in 4 weeks and for best results a series of 3 – 5 treatments.
